First Day of School

The boys have been in school for two weeks now and I thought I'd post some first day of school pictures. Even though I was a little eager for school to start this year in light of our new addition, I find myself missing them a ton. The house feels very empty now, even with a newborn.
I love watching Tucker and his new excitement for school. He is a big kindergartner now and loving it. His first day he wanted to go in all by himself, "just like Grant". He was disappointed at my insisting on walking him in. Hudson is my guy who wants a hug and kiss right before school and wants me to walk him in every day. I love how he is so affectionate and not embarrassed to do so. He has a tender heart.  He takes school VERY serious and loves all his subjects. He is very competitive and has to do everything perfect. Grant is almost 10. That might sum it up for most moms out there. He is at an awkward stage. Still not too cool for playing guys and "pretend" but too cool for some things like your mother walking you into school. He likes picking out his own clothes now, jeans everyday even in the hundred degree weather. He loves his new teacher. He has a Mr. as a teacher and he really thinks the world of him. I am pretty sure it's the "cool teacher" at school. I love hearing all his stories he's dying to tell when he comes home.

The boys went camping again.  They had a blast as usual and Ruby and I stayed home. I was very tempted to go this time, they had a blast last time also. I hate missing out on times like these, but with a newborn I can't muster up the energy it takes to camp with the little princess.
Daddy and Grant. Jeff is an amazing dad. What a huge blessing it is to have a father who cares so much for our boys and now our little girl.

Tucker loves the outdoors.

A Day Hike

Just before school started, the kids and I snuck in a day hike on Chinook Pass at Tipsoo Lake. Daddy had to work. This was Ruby's first real outing and she did great in the car...and pretty much slept through the hike! The boys had fun and did what boys do...ran off the trail, stuck their heads in the water, and climbed all over each other!   It was a beautiful day but I have to say I was wiped by the time we got back home!

This is the honeymoon cabin Jeff and I stayed in...8 years and four kids later!

Tipsoo Lake...The snow was still melting! The boys cooled off here!

Why is it you can never get everyone looking in the same direction with their smiles on and eyes open?

Ruby loves the Bjorn...

Trying to keep Ruby's hat on and the sun off!

Pooped out after all that fresh air!
